Ann Becnel is a professional dog trainer, an AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator, and a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT).
Ann has over 25 years’ experience working with dogs and their owners. Throughout her career as a teacher, she taught dog training classes at nights and on weekends. 15 years ago, after decades of helping families train dogs of all breeds, ages, and sizes, Ann decided to open her own business.
She is a passionate believer in humane, positive reinforcement dog training, which changes behavior quickly and effectively without the use of punishment or force. To keep current on the latest training techniques, Ann attends professional conferences and seminars with high-profile trainers.
When she isn’t hard at work turning other people’s dogs into well-mannered canine family members, Ann volunteers her time and expertise at the Gulf South Golden Retriever Rescue, where she counsels adopters on training and behavior. Aside from spending time with dogs, her favorite pastime is to fly Cessna 172 Skyhawks—she holds a Private Pilot certificate and flies out of Lakefront Airport.
Ann lives in New Orleans, LA, with her husband and their three Italian greyhounds, Zellie, Britney, and Turbo.
